James earned a B.S. in civil and environmental engineering from Carnegie Mellon in 2018, followed by an M.S. in 2019. He spent five years in data science roles at the CIA, starting as a Data Scientist in 2019, moving to Senior Data Scientist in 2021, and finishing as Chief of Data Science for South and Central Asia from 2022 to 2024, before moving to Meta as a Data Scientist in 2024.
